1 series: Features: containing more than 99.00% aluminum, good conductivity, good corrosion resistance, good welding performance, low strength, can not be strengthened by heat treatment, application: high purity aluminum (containing more than 99.9% aluminum) mainly used for scientific tests, chemical industry and special purposes.
2 series: Features: Aluminum alloy with copper as the main composite element. Manganese, magnesium, lead and mysto are also added for cutting properties. The 2017 alloy is a little less strong than the 2014 alloy, but easier to work with. It can be strengthened by heat treatment. Disadvantages: Severe intergranular corrosion tendency. Series 3: Features: Aluminum alloy with manganese as the main alloying element, can not be strengthened by heat treatment, good corrosion resistance, good welding performance. Good plasticity.
4 series: Mainly silicon, not commonly used. Some series 4 alloys can be strengthened by heat treatment, but some series 4 alloys cannot be heat treated.
5 series: Features: Mainly magnesium. Good resistance, good welding performance, good fatigue strength, not heat treatment to strengthen, can only cold processing to improve the strength. Applications: Handle of lawn mower, aircraft fuel tank conduit, body armor.
6 series: Features: Mainly magnesium and silicon. Mg2si is the most widely used alloy as the main strengthening phase. 1 use most, other 6082616612 5626 2606 6063606 0600 5646 3606 3, 6060, 6463 in 6 of strength is lower. The strength of 6262,6005,6082,6061 is relatively high in the 6 series. The superhard aluminum alloy is containing zinc, lead, magnesium and copper alloys close to the hardness of steel.The extrusion speed is slower than that of series 6 alloy, and the welding performance is better. 7005 and 7075 are the highest grades of the 7 series and can be strengthened by heat treatment. Application: aviation (aircraft load-bearing components, landing gear), rockets, propellers, spacecraft.
