What are yogurt lids made of?

They are usually made of aluminum foil, with one side coated or laminated with other materials, and the other side coated with heat-sealing adhesive. For example, a protective agent is coated on one side to form a protective layer (coating amount approximately 0.8-1.2 g/m²), or it is laminated with some plastics, such as PP and PET, and heat-sealing adhesive is coated on the other side to form a heat-sealing layer (coating amount approximately 5-11.0 g/m²).

After coating, the coating requires heating and drying (e.g., 160-210℃) and cooling (e.g., cooling to 35-45℃).

The heat-sealing layer, typically composed of acrylic resin, polyolefin resin, or similar materials, is crucial for achieving a strong seal with the cup rim while remaining easy to tear.

Aluminum foil is the preferred material for packaging lids due to its excellent barrier properties, hygiene, and processing stability. Through precise rolling and dyeing processes, aluminum foil is endowed with the dual value of protecting food and providing ease of use.
