Substitute aluminum for plastic! Aluminum foil is replacing plastic and entering the household fresh-keeping industry
On January 19, 2020, the National Development and Reform Commission and the Ministry of Ecology and Environment issued a new version of the plastic restriction order "Opinions on Further Strengthening the Control of Plastic Pollution", aiming to establish a long-term mechanism for the control of plastic pollution. The opinion pointed out that by 2025, the management system for the production, circulation, consumption, recycling and disposal of plastic products will be basically established, the multi-governance system will basically be formed, the level of development and application of alternative products will be further improved, and the amount of plastic waste landfill in key cities will be greatly reduced. Plastic pollution is effectively controlled.
As the seventh-generation packaging material, the application of household aluminum foil in developed countries such as Europe, America and Japan has already entered thousands of households and has become a daily necessities that can be seen everywhere. In 2020, the global use of packaging foil is about 3.3 million tons, of which the annual consumption per capita in the United States is 3.3 kg, which is 4.7 times that of China. As a household daily necessities such as fresh-keeping and heat preservation, aluminum foil has better unique performance than plastic wrap when wrapping fruits, hamburgers and other foods.
It is reported that 0.0045mm aluminum foil is currently the thinnest rollable finished aluminum foil in the world, which is equivalent to 1/20 of the diameter of a human hair. Its production has extremely stringent requirements on equipment precision, management level and technical level.
In the industry, aluminum strips with a thickness of less than 0.2 mm are usually called aluminum foils, and aluminum foils with a thickness of less than 0.0055 mm are called ultra-thin aluminum foils.
The thinner the aluminum foil, the greater the technical difficulty of production, the higher the added value of the product, and the stronger the competitiveness. Ultra-thin aluminum foil is currently mainly used in high-end power and electronic capacitor products. The ultra-thin aluminum foil, flexible packaging foil, heat-sealing foil, medicine foil, tableware foil, household foil and other products sell well all over the world.
