Xinhua News Agency, Washington, February 9th: U.S. President Trump said on the 9th that he will announce an additional 25% tariff on all steel and aluminum products imported into the United States on the 10th.

Trump made the above statement to the media on the "Air Force One" presidential plane that day. He also said that "reciprocal tariffs" on trading partners will be announced as soon as the 11th. During Trump's first term, he imposed tariffs of 25% and 10% respectively on imported steel and aluminum products on the grounds of safeguarding "national security."

The World Trade Organization issued an expert group report in December 2022, ruling that the United States' measures to impose tariffs on imported steel and aluminum products in 2018 violated relevant WTO regulations.
